BREIF
Our task is to design and animate a multi-platform advertisement for an established brand. The concept we'll be working with is "Old Skool, New Rules," which revolves around the intriguing notion that contrasting ideas can coexist harmoniously. This campaign celebrates the freedom of not conforming to a singular style or norm.
To bring this concept to life, we will harness the diverse talents within our team. Our approach will involve an amalgamation of styles and techniques, seamlessly blending 3D animation, frame-by-frame illustration, kinetic typography, and animated collage. By combining these elements, we will create a visually captivating and dynamic advertisement that resonates with the target audience across various platforms.
The goal is to convey the brand's unique identity and communicate the message that embracing individuality and defying conventions is both empowering and liberating. Through this multi-faceted approach, we will captivate and engage viewers, leaving a lasting impression while showcasing the brand's innovative spirit.
PROCESS
To bring the animations to life, both the final animation and motion tests were meticulously crafted frame-by-frame using Procreate on an iPad. Each section of the animation followed a systematic process. It commenced with a preliminary still sketch to establish the layout, followed by a rough motion test to gauge the timing and overall concept. Finally, the illustrations were refined to achieve the desired final result. This comprehensive approach ensured the seamless execution of the animations, resulting in a visually engaging and polished outcome.
BRAND EXTENSION
To expand on the brand identity we established for the video advertisement, we extended our creative vision to include social media stills, t-shirt designs, and conceptualized how the final video could be adapted for unconventional aspect ratios, like billboards. This comprehensive approach ensures a cohesive and impactful presence across various mediums.
